Sister House of Mitchelson
Roberton House takes its name from the Roberton family. This family has been associated with the School since 1903 when Doctor Ernest Roberton became a founding member of the School Council. Dr Roberton served on the Council from 1903 until 1949 and his length of service has seldom been bettered.
Dr Roberton's niece, Miss Elizabeth Roberton, attended the School between 1927 and 1933 and was Head Prefect in her final year. Between 1940 and 1945, Miss Roberton returned to Diocesan to teach Classics.
This was the first of a number of such returns to the School which concluded in her time as Headmistress between 1966 and 1972. Roberton House was established in 1992. Its banner bears the Roberton family arms and the motto 'For Security'.
