Date1860s - PresentLocationSchool HouseDescriptionSchool House was originally part of an estate called Saint John's Wood and was built in the 1860s. It underwent significant renovations in the 1880s and 1890s before it was purchased from the Hesketh family for £4250 in 1903.
Since 1904 School House has been at the heart of Diocesan possibly because of the iconic photographs of the first students and their teachers in 1904 and 1905 as well as the opening of the School.
The building has undergone multiple modifications over the years, including enlarging the dining room and kitchen as well as the addition of a laundry and drying room to accommodate the increasing number of boarders.
By 1987, the School House no longer housed boarders and it became a building for administrative and organisational purposes which included the Principal's office and other offices for staff.
The building has had all sorts of changes inside and out and yet by retaining its front door, verandah, steps, and balcony its identity remains a clear and recognisable element of life here at School.
School House is one of the oldest buildings on campus and is still used today.
