Miss Sandford was keen on students learning/practising music and sports, and teaching with a more modern approach.

Miss Sandford was our second headmistress. She was fond of music and sports, which is why during her tenure, she did much to update and modernise the School, converting the horse paddock into a proper sports field, building the first school pool and our first gymnasium.

She died in 1974 in England.
