Miss Jean Crosher taught Science at Diocesan from 1942 until 1943, and went on to a successful career in teaching the sciences eventually becoming Headmistress of Saint Margaret’s Christchurch.

In 1973 as a favour to retired Principal Miss Roberton, Miss Crosher came out of retirement to serve as Head at Diocesan until a suitable longer term appointment could be found. She was only Headmistress for a year and died in the North Shore in September 2008.
