Joy Wiseman was appointed by the Board as Acting Principal after the retirement of Mrs Ann Mildenhall.

Joy was Acting Head of the Junior School until the end of Term 3 in 2008, when Mrs Sue Mooney took up her role as Deputy Principal Head of Junior School. Joy Wiseman has had an extensive career in education. In the latter part of her career, she was Principal of Te Puna School in the Bay of Plenty and Director of the Junior School of the Southern Cross Campus. For eight years Joy was an ERO reviewer and acted as Principal in situations similar to Dio when schools have undergone transitions in leadership

She was in the role from October 2008 until May 2009 when Heather McRae took over.
